6 things to do if you want to become a morning gym person ;)

image

Im not a morning person.

I would sleep in until 11 a.m. every day.

Born out of frustration with myself for sometimes skipping the gym and going for a run, because it’s quicker and easier. I decided I’d go to the gym in the morning so I’d have no more excuses.

How hard could it be?

Turns out, very. Here are six things to try if you want to go to the gym in the morning.

1. Prepare everything the night before

Before I go to bed, I pack everything I want to wear the next day in my gym bag and lay out my exercise clothes and sneakers to wear the next morning.

Packing away my gym outfit forces me to take the extra step of removing it from my gym bag if I don’t make it to the gym. It’s a small step that’s just annoying enough to incentivize me to just throw on my workout gear and head to the gym.

Plus, if you already know what you’re going to wear the next day, it will save you time rummaging through your closet.

2. Set your alarm for earlier than you need to wake up

I’m convinced sleeping in and snoozing your alarm is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Because I know that it takes me about two tries before I actually get out of bed, I set my alarm even earlier than I need to so I still feel like I’m sleeping in.

Crowded New York subwayIf I can skip the morning rush, I’m happy.

Though I realize that it’s not technically sleeping in if you’re still waking up at the right time, I find I can lie to myself more easily when I’m drowsy in the morning and feel like I’m still getting some extra shut eye.

3. Find your motivation

Going to the gym every day is all about finding the right motivation. For some people, that might be trying to hit a goal weight, fit into a certain item of clothing, or look great naked. For me it’s looking great naked hahaha 😉

The gym I go to is a few blocks away from my home. It makes it very easy for me to reach it, I can walk or run there.

Whenever I’m feeling really unmotivated, I think about the feeling I have after I went to the gym. I feel AMAZING!!

4. Drink a lot of water

As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is DRINKING as much water as I can. Not only has it been shown to have a lot of great health benefits, like jumpstarting your metabolism, but it also energizes me almost as much as cup of coffee in the morning.

Plus if you’re going to go work out, you should be hydrated.

5. Eat something

eggs with toast breakfastI eat eggs and some fruit maybe rice if i am doing weights, so I am sure I have enough energy. if I am doing cardio only, I eat fruits.

While some people wake up starving in the morning, I’m not one of them. Still, I find I workout much more effectively if I have something to eat before going to the gym.

Lately, I’ve been grabbing fruits like a banana or an apple before my cardio session, but any sort of fuel will do the trick.

6. Remember you just have to show up

The thing I tell myself as I’m dragging my feet out the door every day is that I just have to show up. Simply by touching my feet to the treadmill, I will have been successful. I don’t even have to go for a run if I don’t want to.

Once I get to the gym, I realize how easy it would be to start running. I mean, the treadmill is right there. And after a run, I could go shower immediately, but the weights are close by — why not lift for a little bit as long as I’m here?

It turns out, showing up really is half the battle in the morning.

Breakfast and Energy

Hello Peeps,

I am listening to the danish experts on TV, recommending what to eat and they all say SKYER – its a low-fat yogurt kinda thing! and very trendy and popular, if you have Skyer in your fridge, people think they are very healthy…..

Anyway Skyer is a really lame breakfast, not anything I would recommend! I would start with a banana or a fresh squeezed juice, shortly after boiled or fried eggs or a omelet – with some rice or other kind of carbs that can give you energy, together with some fresh vegetables. Rice in the morning? – Yes rice in the morning! it could also be potatoes or sweet potatoes. It beats filling your belly with bread full of gluten, so you are swollen and your body has to suffer digesting all that bread the rest of your day – and you need some real energy when you have breakfast, its a important meal.

That my friends is a real breakfast, it gives you all the energy you need for a busy day. Skyer is a trend, just because it is trendy it doesn’t mean it is good for you.

Happy Thursday

Detox Juice Hysteria, Here is What I think!

fruit-juice

DONT GO ON THE juice hysteria wave if you want to loose weight!!

Denmark have been going juice crazy in their kitchens, part of the new health wave. You are not trendy if you do not have a juicer, I have one haha ;).. I enjoy one fresh juice in the morning. But if you have to lose weight or just keep your weight it is not the best way to ONLY DRINK FRESH JUICE!. Loosing weight is all about eating less calories than you burn!! So think, what will fill your belly the most some chicken or a juice ?

What will fill you up?

No doubt – you get concentrated health filled with important vitamins and minerals in your fresh juice, that is why I drink one every morning. But if you drink juice all day long you will get a lot of calories in you, but feel like your stomach is empty, why? because all the fibers that fill you stomach up are not in the liquid juice but the firm part of the vegs and fruits and that is the part you throw out in the garbage when you make a juice, so you are basically torturing your stomach!

What will fill you up the most??? in one big glas of juice 400 ml will be approximately 250 calories. What do you think will satisfy your body the most, 400 ml juice or 750 g fruit and vegetables you will chew ?…

Eat your calories if you want to loose weight don’t drink them – you will feel crazy amounts of hunger and you really don’t need to suffer that much to lose weight. People think you need maximum amount of pain to lose weight – you DONT! Actually you don’t need to feel hungry at all, you just need to eat the right things!! lean meat – chicken, turkey, fish and vegetables and a little bit of fruit! very simple – NO DAIRY- NO GLUTEN – NO SUGAR – NO ALCOHOL! Go easy on the salt as well, use other good spices for taste if you really want to be serious with your weight loss CUT THE SALT or use very little. Remember some good fats like olive oil, avocado and coconut oil. Yes you will have cravings, probably be missing your favorite chocolate or candy, but you won’t be starving yourself like the ridiculous juice diets. Your body will chew normal food and therefore you will feel full. 😉

My 7 Rules To Stay Slim and Fit

1. DON’T eat any sugar or carbohydrates  (1 or 2 fruits allowed per day)

2. DON’T Eat any food after 7 pm – only water and organic tea’s

3. Run every morning before you eat breakfast. (fasted cardio)  Wake up drink water and eat a piece of fruit. (it will increase your energy) Jog for 25 minutes, stretch, hot shower, breakfast and you are ready to start your day 😉

4. Go to the gym as often as you can, the bigger the muscles you have, the more calories you will burn. A slim body with no muscles is useless, as soon as you eat a tiny peace of cake it will turn into fat and you will look fat. A person who has muscles will burn it away.

5. My weight is 60 kg. Most people think I weigh 53 -55 kg, but muscles are heavy…. Stop thinking about how much your weight is, use measurements to see your waist become slimmer and follow your body transformation. Take a picture of your body each week and follow the transformation like that. Weight can confuse you!! LOOKING SEXY IS THE GOAL, not how much you weigh. 😉

6. Stay away from alcohol, but a glass of red wine is 10 times better than sugar!! Sugar is the devil!

7. NO DAIRY, NO BREAD, NO CARBS IN GENERAL. Feed yourself with fresh organic food. Fish, red meat, chicken, eggs, vegetables, salads, brown rice, sweet potato’s, salmon, nuts, avocado, olive oil, healthy fats are good for you
