My Top 10 Guilty Pleasure’s ;) What are yours?

As I secretly indulged in some of my favorite things this morning, I started thinking about guilty pleasures. The urban dictionary says guilty pleasures are those things we shouldn’t like, but we like anyway. I think this is a contradiction in terms. They are things we do but don’t talk about to anyone. If we really like doing something, we shouldn’t feel guilty about it, right?

CNN did a story on this last year entitled We men don’t have ‘guilty’ pleasures. According to that article, for men, “obsessions are points of pride, not shame.” I don’t think women should hang their heads in shame either. What are yours? I wonder if any of yours are the same as mine.

  1. Using a lot of time on Instagram filtering my pictures lol while eating raw chocolate with mint or crisps
  2. Listening to Celine Dion, Tina Turner or Whitney Houston’s old love songs (kinda embarrassing Go ahead, laugh it up)
  3. Watching any of the Alien Movies!! Specially Number 2 or 4  – Sigourney Weaver is the bomb and spending a random Tuesday afternoon watching those movies is heaven on earth to me.gallery-movies-alien-saga-gallery-16
  4. Listening to a Australien accent Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about a guilty pleasure – I could listen to a guy with an Australien accent talk all day long. I turn to complete mush. This is one guilty pleasure I don’t get to experience often, but when I do, I can’t get enough.
  5. Late night eating, I know it’s unhealthy and bad. But I can snack all night long, sometimes I eat loads of food just before bed time and feel like crap in the morning hahaha..
  6. Fuzzy socks that go all the way up to your knees in lots of colours, so cute and cosy I love wearing them and I know it’s ugly.Knee-socks-warm-striped-Fuzzy-Sock-long-cozy-feet-warm-winter-home-sleep-thigh-high-stockings
  7.  Reading gossip magazines. The magazines that are so bad, they are good. It is one of the easiest guilty pleasures out there. Just grab one at the supermarket for a few hours of indulgence. I don’t care that most of that celebrity stuff isn’t true; I just want to look at all the pictures and dream that I owned as many pairs of shoes as Suri Cruise.
  8. Sleeping late without being interrupted. Oh.. wow.. what a guilty pleasure. I haven’t been able to do this for months; lately there just isn’t room in my schedule. Do you remember when we were teenagers and we would go to sleep Friday night and wake up late in the afternoon on Saturday? Back then, I didn’t realize how indulgent that was. What I would do for a solid twelve hours of sleep right now. 🙂 Im crashing early tonight.
  9. Dancing around alone in my apartment it is strange but a guilty pleasure, I love it and it always makes me happy.dancing_with_myself_by_mykegreywolf-d8p49ta
  10. Spending hours on grooming myself, differen’t body oils and face creams, hair moisturizer, manicure’s, body scrub, perfumes I could use all day.  health-beauty-products

6 things to do if you want to become a morning gym person ;)

image

Im not a morning person.

I would sleep in until 11 a.m. every day.

Born out of frustration with myself for sometimes skipping the gym and going for a run, because it’s quicker and easier. I decided I’d go to the gym in the morning so I’d have no more excuses.

How hard could it be?

Turns out, very. Here are six things to try if you want to go to the gym in the morning.

1. Prepare everything the night before

Before I go to bed, I pack everything I want to wear the next day in my gym bag and lay out my exercise clothes and sneakers to wear the next morning.

Packing away my gym outfit forces me to take the extra step of removing it from my gym bag if I don’t make it to the gym. It’s a small step that’s just annoying enough to incentivize me to just throw on my workout gear and head to the gym.

Plus, if you already know what you’re going to wear the next day, it will save you time rummaging through your closet.

2. Set your alarm for earlier than you need to wake up

I’m convinced sleeping in and snoozing your alarm is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Because I know that it takes me about two tries before I actually get out of bed, I set my alarm even earlier than I need to so I still feel like I’m sleeping in.

Crowded New York subwayIf I can skip the morning rush, I’m happy.

Though I realize that it’s not technically sleeping in if you’re still waking up at the right time, I find I can lie to myself more easily when I’m drowsy in the morning and feel like I’m still getting some extra shut eye.

3. Find your motivation

Going to the gym every day is all about finding the right motivation. For some people, that might be trying to hit a goal weight, fit into a certain item of clothing, or look great naked. For me it’s looking great naked hahaha 😉

The gym I go to is a few blocks away from my home. It makes it very easy for me to reach it, I can walk or run there.

Whenever I’m feeling really unmotivated, I think about the feeling I have after I went to the gym. I feel AMAZING!!

4. Drink a lot of water

As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is DRINKING as much water as I can. Not only has it been shown to have a lot of great health benefits, like jumpstarting your metabolism, but it also energizes me almost as much as cup of coffee in the morning.

Plus if you’re going to go work out, you should be hydrated.

5. Eat something

eggs with toast breakfastI eat eggs and some fruit maybe rice if i am doing weights, so I am sure I have enough energy. if I am doing cardio only, I eat fruits.

While some people wake up starving in the morning, I’m not one of them. Still, I find I workout much more effectively if I have something to eat before going to the gym.

Lately, I’ve been grabbing fruits like a banana or an apple before my cardio session, but any sort of fuel will do the trick.

6. Remember you just have to show up

The thing I tell myself as I’m dragging my feet out the door every day is that I just have to show up. Simply by touching my feet to the treadmill, I will have been successful. I don’t even have to go for a run if I don’t want to.

Once I get to the gym, I realize how easy it would be to start running. I mean, the treadmill is right there. And after a run, I could go shower immediately, but the weights are close by — why not lift for a little bit as long as I’m here?

It turns out, showing up really is half the battle in the morning.

Blog Advice ;)

I feel inspired at night or when evening is approaching. When everything is quite around me and I can reflect on my day and the experiences I had.

A good idea is to write down you thoughts straight away, don’t wait.

When you have a thought you would like to share on your blog, think it thru and write it down before you change your mind or get a new idea.

Sometimes I write just before I sleep. I get so many different thoughts and ideas.

Find out what works best for you.

I need time alone to get my thoughts flowing and I use different experiences, peoples impulses and energy to create something I would like to share.

Your mind can produce something great, if let it run free and give yourself a chance to be creative.

Good Luck!!! 😀

8 tips to help you cure Insomnia

13000274_792024000927607_1214795253749915467_n

From time to time – I will have trouble sleeping. It is usually, if I have a lot on my mind or I am worried about something. Anyway a couple of my friends are having the same issues, so I thought I would make a post about insomnia – in case you have the same troubles..

In my own experience, if I can’t sleep I need to solve the problem in my thoughts before I can rest. My advice is take care of your worries during the day, speak your mind if something is bothering you and be honest to others and yourself. When evening comes, you will be free from worries because you took care of your problems during the day. So you can relax and enjoy yourself before bedtime. Also say NO if you are stressed, priorities your time alone. Recharged your batteries and have a evening where you only do you! Do your favorite things, go to the gym, give yourself a facial, put on your favorite moisturizing body oil, watch your favorite movie, cuddle up with some snacks and a blanket. There is nothing better to cure insomnia than making yourself feel relaxed, content and happy.

Thinking positive thoughts and giving yourself a mental clap on the shoulder for doing well, is also important. 😉

Us women are often too hard on ourselves, we need to give ourselves mental compliments for how well we do in our everyday life. Mostly women suffer from insomnia probably because we worry and think more – being the SMARTER sex .. hahaha 🙂

Sleep is so, so important, it can drain you completely, so lets find out – Why can’t we sleep?

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is characterized by difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. People with insomnia have one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep
  • Waking up too early in the morning
  • Feeling tired upon waking

Types of Insomnia

There are two types of insomnia: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia.

  • Primary insomnia: Primary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems that are not directly associated with any other health condition or problem.
  • Secondary insomnia: Secondary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems because of something else, such as a health condition (like asthma, depression, arthritis, cancer, or heartburn); pain; medication they are taking; or a substance they are using (like alcohol).

Causes of Insomnia

Causes of acute insomnia can include:

  • Significant life stress (job loss or change, death of a loved one, divorce, moving)
  • Illness
  • Emotional or physical discomfort
  • Environmental factors like noise, light, or extreme temperatures (hot or cold) that interfere with sleep
  • Some medications (for example those used to treat colds, allergies, depression, high blood pressure, and asthma) may interfere with sleep
  • Interferences in normal sleep schedule (jet lag or switching from a day to night shift, for example)

Causes of chronic insomnia include:

8 tips to help you cure Insomnia

All age groups are affected by insomnia. Its incidence increases as age increases because stress is the most common cause of insomnia. Furthermore, women are more affected by this than men.

The cure for insomnia involves activities that would promote sleep and reduce stimulation. Several activities are advised to the insomniacs to prepare their body for sleep.

1. Exercise regularly. Studies have shown that regular exercise helps the body with its sleeping problems. It is generally important to attain optimal health. It is important to stress that exercise should be made early in the morning and not immediately before sleeping.

2. Avoid heavy meals and lots of fluids before going to bed. Large meals could lead to indigestion while a lot of fluids will increase the incidence of having to get up to urinate in the middle of the night

3. Maintain a peaceful and comfortable environment. During bedtime, turn off the lights, turn off anything that could create noise, and be sure you are comfortable with the room temperature. These factors affect sleep. Remove the clock from sight because it will contribute to your anxiety and frustration when you can’t fall asleep.

The following are excellent tips to put an end to your sleepless nights.

1. Decrease ingestion of stimulant-containing substances such as tea, coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes. Stimulants increase alertness, which are not needed during sleep.

2. Eat a very light carbohydrate snack before bedtime; or better yet, drink warm milk

3. Take a warm bath 30 minutes to an hour before bedtime. The immediate effect of a warm bath is sedation. When the bath is taken more than an hour before bedtime, an arousing effect would occur instead of a sedating one. Furthermore, warmth relieves body tension.

4. Stop watching TV, reading, or engaging in any mind-stimulating activities at least an hour before bedtime. These activities tend to prolong your wakefulness.

5. Use only your bed for sleeping (and sex). This will help your body associate your bed to just sleep. Thus, when you lie on your bed, it is a signal that it is time to sleep.

6. Engage in relaxation activities: listening to music, deep breathing exercises, meditation, etc. These activities slow down body processes and help the body to relax. Both functions aid the body in falling asleep.

7. Clear your mind. Remove all concerns and worries from your mind. You can do this through writing your thoughts and ideas in a journal.

8. Do not take naps. Try to sleep and wake up at the same time everyday. Taking naps will only disrupt your biological clock. On the other hand, sleeping and waking up at the same time everyday will help your body set your biological clock.

Through following these tips, a good night’s sleep is very much attainable. Remember that sleep is essential for the body’s growth and repair. Insomnia is not something that occurs naturally in your body. Thus, it must be treated.

If the mentioned tips do not cure or even minimize the insomnia or if insomnia is quite bothering you for a long time, do not hesitate to consult a doctor.

Good luck my beautiful peeps – Sweet dreams and goodnight!!

Find Out What Hollywood Actor I dated For A While

Hey Boyz and Gals,

You all know I had a small part in the movie Rush a few years ago.

I never told anybody about this secret, because it is so personal, I don’t like to talk about my LOVE – life, in general.

I was lucky enough to meet and work with the gorgeous Chris Hemsworth you know from Thor and the Avengers. Tall, strong, and HOT. Chris is not only good looking but has a caring and sweet personality. I was very nervous and excited at the same time when I was introduced to him and the talented director Ron Howard. Meeting both of them was a dream come true, for a movie geek like me.

Anyway, Ron was directing me and he can be a bit tough when he talks to you. Chris was so sweet, – he told me Ron would not talk or direct me, if he didn’t like my acting or see potential in me. That made me feel better straight away, Chris and I had 3 -4 scenes together, but unfortunately only 1 scene was used in the movie, it is normal to make extra material for the movie, usually they cut off 1 or 2 hours, when they edit the whole thing in the end. Thank god my one scene was used or I would have been devastated – been telling all my friends.

Anyway Chris and I had a kissing scene and I was in heaven. 😀 I hoped we could re-play the scene over and over.. 🙂 but we didn’t lol..

After we finished filming, – Chris asked me if he should give me a ride, we where a few hours outside London filming at a old airport. He was staying at a hotel in central London, not far from my apartment in Mayfair. I was like yes please give me a ride that would be great.

I think you can all imagine how the day ended. We started dating in secret because of his pregnant wife. It was very difficult because he is a family guy and it all ended very dramatic. I saw him for 2 month, until his wife walked in on us – pure girl. I still feel really bad about the whole thing, but I couldn’t help myself – its Chris Hemsworth come on, who can resist him.

(April Fool LOL.. ) Everything is true but the last part, he didn’t drive me home and we didn’t have an affair. He offered to give me a ride actually. But I finished work many hours before him, so it never happened. Haha you fool :D..
