The Desire For Attention

hdbeocngim6ow3igjppt7_9k0ygj4iij3qjjslz1oz4

We are more than our bodies, but that doesn’t mean we have to be a shamed of them or our sexuality.

As women we are accused of seeking attention more than men are, whether for speaking out politically, for dressing a certain way, or for even posting a selfie. Our culture has a double standard that runs so deep, many women have actually built up an automatic defense—attempting to be a step ahead of potential critics by making sure we have “real” reasons for anything we say or do.

Often it’s men propelling these acts of sexism, but women discount one another too: Think about how many times you’ve heard a woman say about another woman, “Oh, she’s just doing that for attention.” Our society tells women we can’t be, say, sexy and confident and opinionated about politics. This would allow us too much power. Instead our society asks us to declare and defend our motivations, which makes us second-guess them, all while men do what they please without question.

I see it all the time, particularly when my girlfriends are getting ready to go out. They encounter this moment when they think, I don’t want to look like I tried too hard. They don’t want to be seen as desperate or vain. But my guy friends don’t think twice about whether this shirt or that cologne will make them seem attention seeking. The truth is that both groups want to be noticed. Yet we view a man’s desire for attention as a natural instinct; with a woman, we label her a narcissist.

Look at pop culture: Mick Jagger is 73, and he still sometimes wears his shirt open and gyrates onstage. We understand that this is a part of his performance and artistic brand. Meanwhile, when Madonna, who is 58 and a revolutionary in that same kind of artistic sexuality, wears a sheer dress to the Met Gala, critics call her “a hot mess” who’s “desperate.” But isn’t she just making one of her signature political statements about female sexuality (and, incidentally, about our ageist, sexist culture too)? In any case, they are both performers who undoubtedly like attention. So why does Madonna get flak for it while Jagger is celebrated?

It’s absurd to think that desire for attention doesn’t drive both women and men. Why are women scrutinized for it more, then? And if a woman dresses up because she does want attention, male or otherwise, does that make her guilty of something? Or less “serious”? Our society doesn’t question men’s motivations for taking their shirt off, or shaving, or talking about politics—nor should it. Wanting attention is genderless. It’s human. 😉

Is Perfection The Best Policy?

Young Women.

Many young girls I know have fake hair, fake lips, cheek implants, botox and a small fake nose. The only way I can tell you apart is from your different skin tones and hair colors. You all look pretty and perfect, but y’all look alike. Is perfection the best way to go? I am not against plastic surgery, fake hair or perfection. But I miss the days of different beauties and unique faces, it seems like beauty has a specific look these days.

I think flaws can be beautiful and charming look at this gorgeous woman, Eva Mendez one of my favorite beauties. She has flaws a crooked mouth and a larger nose and chin, if you see it as a flaw. I think she looks amazing. If you are proud of your flaws it can be the most beautiful, unique and sexy part of you. Try to be comfortable in your own skin, before you begin the search for perfection. Will perfection give you peace of mind? I don’t think so – and too much plastic surgery will erase your own uniqueness. Be proud of your features and flaws, nobody looks like you in this world unless you have a twin haha ;).

My 6 Steps To Getting Bikini-Ready In A Week

IS3A5301-Edit

Summertime means lots of days in bikinis and swimsuits by the pool or beach. I always try to stay bikini ready all summer, but when going on vacation knowing I will be without my regular fitness rutine and in a bikini all day, it’s time to really get it together. When I want to look my best in a swimsuit I have a few tricks I follow that totally help. These 5 things are what I do a week before a beach vacation to feel and look my best.

  1. NEVER Skip Breakfast. It will only slow your metabolism.

Last summer I was making fresh pressed juice every morning with fruits and vegetables and protein powder. This summer I haven’t really been doing that. Now I drink a healthy drink called Estrogenomics from Poliquin and I ad some L-Glutamine. It is a blend of pea protein concentrate, pea protein isolate, glycine, taurine, rice protein concentrate, and L-glutamine, dried cane syrup, fiber complex, oat fiber, cocoa powder, sunflower oil, bioactive immunoglobulin, plant enzyme and broccoli seed extract, I didn’t even mention all the ingredient’s because I don’t know what half of them do.. haha 😉 But I know it’s good for you – and my body feels good when I drink it. I always ad extra L-glutamine to my shake – you can order it HERE 😉 and HERE – This drink will give you a boost of vital minerals and vitamins you need for an overall good health and strong gut, your immunity will become stronger and you won’t get sick very often. L-glutamine promotes good recovery after a gym session and lots of other stuff.

After my shake I will eat a banan and then go for my fasted cardio rutine, which means my little morning run without a real breakfast.

I will burn pure fat IF I keep my pace at a jogging level, if you start sprinting you will start burning muscles because you didn’t eat a solid breakfast, so I wouldn’t recommend that. After my 20-25 min run it is time for a real breakfast – I eat 3- 4 eggs and cook it in different ways with vegs, rice or what ever I have in my fridge – Before a vacation I will probably skib the rice to become more lean.

2. I will always recommend loosing weight by changing your lifestyle eating healthy and exercising. But if you need a quick boost Iduva is a dietary supplement that can help you loose weight fast, and give you a good head start. Maybe you have been eating too many ice creams this summer and want to slim down quickly before your vacca. Iduva has weight-loss shakes and bars. Right now you can buy it with 20 % off the normal price, this discount will be available until Monday 15/8 go get your supplements now. click HERE and you will go straight to Iduva’s discount. 3. Don’t eat 3 hours before you go to bed. I always want to eat a snack before bedtime, if I have wild cravings I will eat 1 peace of raw chocolate and drink another breakfast shake. On normal occasions I will usually eat something and not be a fanatic 😀

4. Get those workouts done, visit the gym and workout. Train like it is your last summer on earth. I seriously rip myself apart in the gym – no joke, people will be looking at me like i’m nuts, sweat dripping everywhere, tomato red face, terminator mood and ready to pass out after each set.. Go all GI Jane style, cos I know you want that bikini body! 😉

5. Eat as clean as possible, especially when it comes to snacks. I will swap my beloved crisps for nuts or fruits instead! Super boring yes, but it is only 1 week before your vacca.

6. Kick up your water intake big time and drink lots of green teas. It really is the ekstra step that makes my tummy look flatter.

My Top 10 Guilty Pleasure’s ;) What are yours?

As I secretly indulged in some of my favorite things this morning, I started thinking about guilty pleasures. The urban dictionary says guilty pleasures are those things we shouldn’t like, but we like anyway. I think this is a contradiction in terms. They are things we do but don’t talk about to anyone. If we really like doing something, we shouldn’t feel guilty about it, right?

CNN did a story on this last year entitled We men don’t have ‘guilty’ pleasures. According to that article, for men, “obsessions are points of pride, not shame.” I don’t think women should hang their heads in shame either. What are yours? I wonder if any of yours are the same as mine.

  1. Using a lot of time on Instagram filtering my pictures lol while eating raw chocolate with mint or crisps
  2. Listening to Celine Dion, Tina Turner or Whitney Houston’s old love songs (kinda embarrassing Go ahead, laugh it up)
  3. Watching any of the Alien Movies!! Specially Number 2 or 4  – Sigourney Weaver is the bomb and spending a random Tuesday afternoon watching those movies is heaven on earth to me.gallery-movies-alien-saga-gallery-16
  4. Listening to a Australien accent Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about a guilty pleasure – I could listen to a guy with an Australien accent talk all day long. I turn to complete mush. This is one guilty pleasure I don’t get to experience often, but when I do, I can’t get enough.
  5. Late night eating, I know it’s unhealthy and bad. But I can snack all night long, sometimes I eat loads of food just before bed time and feel like crap in the morning hahaha..
  6. Fuzzy socks that go all the way up to your knees in lots of colours, so cute and cosy I love wearing them and I know it’s ugly.Knee-socks-warm-striped-Fuzzy-Sock-long-cozy-feet-warm-winter-home-sleep-thigh-high-stockings
  7.  Reading gossip magazines. The magazines that are so bad, they are good. It is one of the easiest guilty pleasures out there. Just grab one at the supermarket for a few hours of indulgence. I don’t care that most of that celebrity stuff isn’t true; I just want to look at all the pictures and dream that I owned as many pairs of shoes as Suri Cruise.
  8. Sleeping late without being interrupted. Oh.. wow.. what a guilty pleasure. I haven’t been able to do this for months; lately there just isn’t room in my schedule. Do you remember when we were teenagers and we would go to sleep Friday night and wake up late in the afternoon on Saturday? Back then, I didn’t realize how indulgent that was. What I would do for a solid twelve hours of sleep right now. 🙂 Im crashing early tonight.
  9. Dancing around alone in my apartment it is strange but a guilty pleasure, I love it and it always makes me happy.dancing_with_myself_by_mykegreywolf-d8p49ta
  10. Spending hours on grooming myself, differen’t body oils and face creams, hair moisturizer, manicure’s, body scrub, perfumes I could use all day.  health-beauty-products
